It was the first Cultural Tuesday in Seattle. To start the day we went
to the MOHAI museum. It was really interesting to know several facts about
Seattle. What caught my attention was to main things. The fire and the
modifications in Seattle.
First, there was a theater where a short film was played. It was the
story about a big fire that took place in Seattle in 1889. All the story was
sung, the lyrics explained that the fire starter in a carpentry because of a
glue pot. The fire spread through 42 block and consumed everything. The most
amazing thing is that one died in that fire and that all people decided to do
some modification while rebuilding Seattle.
The second thing that amazed me was the fact that Seattle has a lot of
modification in its natural structure. Some little hills were removed so as to
have some more parks and some other wide open areas. There was a part in the museums
that shows you what the modifications were.
We also went to SAM (Seattle Art Museum) which was so interesting. Here,
I could see some pieces of art from Andy Warhol and Pollock. They both have
different type of art, but both are excellent in their work.
